Cat People

With the sunny skies and warm winds we had today, it certainly didn't feel like December begins in all of a few hours!  Maybe that's why I felt compelled to throw some pastels into my color palette. Winter schminter.
Blouse, Sweater and Shoes - Miu Miu
Trousers - J. Crew
Necklace - vintage, from my great grandmother's costume jewelry collection
I don't wear them very often, but I do love these heels. And hey, if you enjoy close-up shots of interesting footwear, take a look at Tuesday's post on The SF Style.  I'll bet you recognize that girl.

The Final Frontier

I really hate it when people post funny little exchanges, screenplay style, between them and their significant other on their blogs. This is especially prevalent on tumblr, where there surely must be a quick and easy template for recreating short conversations (I'm not on tumblr and wouldn't really know). These sorts of posts, which seem to exist only to show the world how witty and wonderful you and your sweetie are, are so masturbatory, because they are never, ever funny to anyone in the reading audience.
Well, grab your Hitachi Magic Wands, because I'm about to join that very same hateful club and post a conversation that just happened about ten minutes ago. Are you ready?  For context, all you need to know is that I'm wearing the sweater in the above photo when I walk into the room where Ted is sitting.

Ted: Where's that sweater from, the Starship Enterprise?
Me: (Completely aghast) It's CELINE!
Ted: Celine Dion?

Block Party

In terms of personal style among many folks I know, there's been a bit of color blocking going on this fall, especially the mixing of pastels and primary colors. I found some of that inspiration in the J. Crew catalogue, of all places.
As you know I much prefer prints most of the time, so color blocking is a bit of a challenge for me.
